Vegan Guide to ASOS Makeup

Posted byNicole Whittle Posted onFebruary 22, 2018 Comments1

Late last year the mega online fashion retailer ASOS debuted it’s new makeup range to the beauty world. Receiving commendation for it’s pretty packaging, great quality and budget-friendly products, it’s safe to say it received good feedback. What’s best about the new ASOS beauty range is the quantity of vegan products. Read on to find out more about their status on animal testing and which products made the vegan list.

The Vegan List

This list was correct at time of publishing, February 2018. Click here to see the most up to date vegan list provided by ASOS.

Are They Cruelty Free?

Their current status is as follows:

We’re not currently certified as cruelty-free but it’s a priority for us. We’re working with our suppliers and Cruelty Free International to achieve their ‘Leaping Bunny’ certification (which is the highest standard available) in the very near future.

This is how they feel about animal testing:

  • ASOS Make-Up is not tested on animals.
  • In accordance with the EU animal testing ban that came into effect on 11th March 2013, brands selling cosmetic products in the EU through any of ASOS’ websites must comply with the requirements of EU law.
  • Some beauty brands sold through ASOS.com, who also sell their products through other channels, may still be testing on animals if required by local market regulations. ASOS is committed to working with the industry to achieve a worldwide ban on animal testing.

It’s great to see a big brand like ASOS launch such a vegan friendly beauty line. The matte liquid lipsticks and glitter pots are easily at the top of my list to add on to my next order. Hopefully other brands follow their lead and take vegan and cruelty free seriously.
