Açai vs Goji: which vegan hotel is right for you?
If you’re looking for a vegan holiday in Rhodes, chances are you’ve come across two sister spots: Açai Boutique Hotel Rhodes and Goji Vegan Hotel Rhodes.
Both are 100% vegan, eco-conscious, and run by people who genuinely understand veganism – not just as a trend, but as a lifestyle.

During my stay at Açai last year, I had so many people ask: “Is it better than Goji?” and “What’s the difference?” So I asked the owners, gathered feedback from followers, and here’s the honest lowdown on how the two hotels compare…
Açai Boutique Hotel: Beach, City & Foodie Vibes

Best for: travellers who want beach walks, culture, and great food
Açai is the newer, more central sister hotel, located close to Rhodes Town and Old Town. It’s ideal if you like having things to do nearby and don’t want to spend your whole holiday by a pool.

This is where my boyfriend and I stayed last year, and we loved the mix of exploring, beach time, and amazing food.
The menu here is genuinely impressive – lots of fresh, local produce and classic Greek dishes veganised beautifully (including an incredible feta alternative). The breakfasts are a feast in themselves.

This hotel generally gets stronger food reviews, with more time and care going into the meals.
What Açai offers
- 📍 Close to Rhodes Town and Old Town
- 🌊 Around a 5-minute walk to the beach
- 🏊 No swimming pool (unless you book the Berry Suite with a private mini pool)
- 🧘 Rooftop yoga with sea views
- 👨👩👧 Allows children (though not especially child-focused)
- 🍽 Creative, refined vegan menus and opportunity to join a cooking class
The vibe
Açai feels modern, calm, and thoughtful. It’s perfect if you want a mix of sightseeing, beach time, and genuinely exciting vegan food. It has more of a “boutique hotel meets conscious travel” feel.

Goji Vegan Hotel: Poolside Wellness Retreat
Best for: travellers who want peace, pools, and total relaxation
Goji is the original sister hotel and has much more of a retreat-style atmosphere. It’s quieter, more secluded, and designed for switching off completely.
From what I’ve heard from followers, the food here is wholesome, homemade, and clearly made with care but can feel a bit repetitive over a longer stay.

What Goji offers
- 📍 More secluded location
- 🏊 Large swimming pool
- 🚫 Adults only (no children)
- 🌿 Strong wellness focus
- 🧘 Yoga and relaxation spaces
- 🍽 Simple, nourishing vegan food
The vibe
Goji feels more like a wellness escape. Think pool days, books, journalling, yoga, and early nights. There’s less emphasis on exploring and more on resting.
If you want a break from busy life and don’t mind being away from the town or beach, Goji delivers that retreat feeling really well. That being said, it’s only an 8 minutes on foot to the beach, where you can enjoy water sports, such as kite and wind surfing.
Which One Should You Choose?
Choose Açai if you:
- Love being near the beach and town
- Want great vegan food every night
- Enjoy sightseeing and exploring
- Like modern, stylish hotels
- Are travelling as a couple or with children
Choose Goji if you:
- Want pool days and total calm
- Prefer adults-only hotels
- Are going for rest and wellness
- Don’t mind being more secluded
- Want a retreat-style holiday
My Honest Take

Both hotels get great reviews from vegans, and for good reason. They go far beyond “plant-based food” and build veganism into everything from toiletries and cleaning products to design and sustainability.
But they suit different moods.
- Açai = active, foodie, beachy, cultural
- Goji = slow, quiet, restorative, retreat-like
If you’re visiting Rhodes for the first time and want to see the island, Açai is probably the better pick. If you’re burnt out and just want to disappear by a pool for a week, Goji will suit you more.
You can’t really go wrong with either. Both prove that vegan travel doesn’t have to mean compromising on comfort, style, or experience – it just depends on how you want to feel on your holiday.
