allplants Review – Healthy Vegan Freezer Food
allplants is a vegan food delivery, meal plan service. Founded by two brothers who love the benefits of a plant based life style after making the switch in late 2015.

It changed us. Physically we toned up. Mentally we became so much more self-aware. Emotionally we felt an ever-increasing connection with our planet and a fixed sense of purpose to build a healthier, more compassionate, thriving world. – JP and Alex, founders of allplants, talking about going plant-based.
They’ve put together some amazingly tasty, healthy and sustainable meals to help others enjoy a plant-based vegan diet.
Healthy, Vegan and Delicious
My colleague at work who dabbles with veganism has subscribed to allplants due to his busy lifestyle and his aim to become more plant based. On occasion, he brings in a frozen dish for us to share on our lunch break. We stick it in the freezer in the morning and then the microwave at lunch time. This can be both cheaper and healthier than grabbing lunch out and about in the city.
MOROCCAN TAGINE
Easily the best tagine I’ve ever tasted. This was my first experience of allplants and I was blown away. I hadn’t expected restaurant quality food, which comes from their incredible recipe and ingredients. With apricots and rose petals this was subtly sweet and aromatic, whilst filling with butternut squash, chickpeas and potatoes. This was my favourite.

LASAGNE
My colleague wasn’t keen on this dish so gave his second lasagne meal to me to take home. My boyfriend, an avid lasagne hater despite loving cheese and pasta, absolutely adored it. I served this with a fresh side salad and both of us were happily impressed. The ‘cheese’ layer is a delicious butternut squash béchamel which brought the whole dish together.

POLPETTE ORZO
Brought in on the day of our team meeting, everyone was salivating as we tucked into our lunch in the boardroom. Murmurs of ‘is that vegan?’ and some changed perspectives is one of the best reasons to order allplants to take in to the office. This fancy, tasty twist on ‘meatballs and rice’ was really warming, hearty and comforting. The tomato sauce was cooked with smoked paprika and sundried tomatoes, creating the most amazing base to this meal.

Freezing is Cool
Freezing is a wonderful, resourceful way to keep food fresh. With the majority of homes having a freezer this is an easy, accessible way to stay healthy. Here are some reasons to choose frozen food:
- Free from preservatives – no need for unnatural preservative to prolong it’s freshness
- Fresher – often picked, washed and frozen in the hour
- Minimises waste – you cook with what you need and keep the rest in the freezer
- Cheap – frozen food is often cheaper than fresh
Eco Friendly and Minimal Waste
Their packaging is absolutely recyclable, read on to find out more about their eco friendly initiatives.
Our meals are packed in 100% recyclable paper-board trays. The cardboard sleeve and BPA-free plastic bag are also 100% recyclable.
Our delivery packaging consists of a fully recyclable cardboard box, an insulating liner made from post-industrial denim fibres and gel packs, which are non-toxic.
As part of our Zero-Waste mission, we want to encourage reducing waste. That’s why we have made it as simple as possible to return the box, sparkly liner and gel packs to us, free of charge, using the return label enclosed in each box!
allplants are taking their environmental impact seriously. They are leading some real change and challenging industry norms.
Verdict
Whilst my lifestyle is busy, generally I like to take the time out to cook my dinners and lunches. That being said, once I’ve moved into my new home I’d like to have a small stock of these in the freezer. They’re perfect for lazy evenings when you want something indulgent yet healthy.

Hi Nicole,
Found you as I am doing a research to find a sustainable packaging company for my vegan food business that I am trying to make it available in the next month or so.
I will start with frozen items, and I am wondering if you can suggest any company that share the same mind frame as the one you are using.
I am based in Sydney Australia.
thanks for doing what you are doing.
cheers
