Is Flamingo Cruelty-Free and Vegan?

Today, we’re spilling the tea on Flamingo – the shaving sensations – to find out if they’re truly cruelty-free and vegan. No frills, just the facts, so let’s get to it!

Self Proclaimed Cruelty-Free 🐇

So, here’s the deal. Flamingo proudly states that none of their products are tested on animals – which is great news for animal lovers. However, it’s worth noting that they don’t hold any official cruelty-free certifications. Whilst they do have the Cruelty Free Kitty approval, it’s not quite the same as having the backing of recognised organisations like Leaping Bunny or PETA. That being said, Cruelty-Free Kitty is good enough approval for me…  but I know it’s not enough for everyone. Just laying it all out so you’re free to make your own choices!

Vegan-Friendly Products: Almost There 🌱

Vegans, I’m happy to say Flamingo does have some plant-based options that you’ll love. Most of their products are free from animal-derived ingredients, which is a win. However, their wax strips contain beeswax, making them not 100% vegan. So just keep this in mind before you make your pick. (last updated July 2023) 

Sustainability Efforts: Not A Lot Going On 🌍

When it comes to sustainability, Flamingo isn’t waving big green flags. They don’t seem to make sustainability a focal point in their messaging. That said, they do offer replaceable blades for their razors, which is a step in the right direction for reducing waste compared to disposable razors.

Making a Difference: A Nice Touch ❤️

Apart from the grooming game, Flamingo shows some heart by supporting a social mission. Since 2018, they’ve allocated 1% of their sales to organisations that promote positive body relationships for women.

So, what’s the bottom line? Flamingo claims to be cruelty-free, but they lack official certifications to solidify that claim. Their vegan options are pretty good, except for those beeswax wax strips. When it comes to sustainability, it’s just not a priority. If you’re after a brand that’s got some ethical touches and a range of grooming goodies, Flamingo might be worth a try. I’m definitely keen to give them a go!
