Maria Nila: Luxurious Vegan Haircare
Finding salon-quality vegan haircare can be difficult so I was really happy to discover Maria Nila. Not only are their high quality products great for your hair, but there’s a huge range of products on the Sally Beauty site – from shampoos and conditioners to heat protection and texture sprays. There are so few good vegan styling products on the market, so this is a godsend.

Maria Nila are founded and manufactured locally in Sweden and work hard to create color-preserving products and treatments without using sulphates, parabens or animal derived ingredients. They have recently turned this talent to launch a gorgeous semi-permanent colouring range which gently colours and nourishes hair.
I am so happy to be teaming up with Sally Beauty on this post. They invited me and a few other bloggers to a West London salon to try out some of the Maria Nila range. I had such a fun day learning about the products, wearing my first ever ‘updo’ as well as leaving with well nourished hair and a few products to take home and try.
Semi permanent colouring
I was so excited when I heard Maria Nila were launching their own dyes as I am always getting DM’s asking about vegan hair dyes. Whilst it features fun shades like an azure blue, vivid violet and pink pop, they also have natural shades like cacao, vanilla and bright copper.

I’ve seen a few vegan hair dyes on the market but most seem to come in colourful shades and overlook the natural colours. I’m so happy to now have a go-to ready for when I next choose to dye my hair. I think I’ll probably go with either Cacao Red or Cacao Intense.
You can shop their shades here.

This is great for those looking to colour their hair with minimal damage as the dye is:
- Free from sulphates and parabens
- Made using softening argan oil
- Applies quickly within 3 to 10 minutes
Please keep in mind that these are semi-permanent dyes and is best for colour refreshes rather than long-term vibrant ambitions.
Perfect your updo
It wasn’t until I arrived at the event that I found out I’d be treated to a gorgeous bridal updo. It’s very rare that I wear my hair up, so I was happy to learn a few tips and tricks to perfect an updo hairstyle.

To prep my hair perfectly we used the volume range. I absolutely loved the Pure Volume Masque. Firstly, it smelt incredible but I also loved how lightweight and gentle the treatment was – perfect for my fine hair! This meant that my hair wouldn’t be weighed down, allowing us to create soft curls like the pretty ones framing my face.

The other key product used was the Style & Finish Volume Spray – this is easily one the best vegan hairsprays I have ever used. If you want your hair to have a bit more volume without that nasty hairspray smell or getting stiff and clumpy then this is perfect. Just be sure to spray it before blowdrying.
I put my hair through a lot of damage with regular blow drying and straightening so it’s important to me to take good care of it. I’m so happy to finally be able to use salon quality haircare that’s also vegan and cruelty free. This means I can have healthier hair everyday without compromising on my morals.
