Vegan Beauty Advents 2021

Posted byNicole Whittle Posted onOctober 26, 2021 Comments0

Beauty advents are a great way to treat yourself at Christmas. They’re also a great opportunity to save money by bulk buying a bunch of beauty products. However, it can be difficult to find ones on the market which are full of exclusively vegan and cruelty free products. That’s where this guide comes in handy – you can find popular beauty advents categorised between: vegan and cruelty-free, just cruelty-free and not cruelty-free. This list will grow as more beauty advent calendars are released.

This list is brought to you by Vegan Beauty Girl – stay up to date with vegan beauty news and reviews through my YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. This post contains affiliate links – this helps keep my content free.

Vegan + Cruelty-Free Beauty Advents

Holland & Barrett – 25 days at £45

Stock up on your vegan beauty with this £45 beauty advent from Holland & Barrett which is worth a whopping £170. Just bear in mind that whilst all the brands are cruelty-free, this doesn’t always stretch up to parent company level. For example, REN – who are owned by non cruelty-free Unilever – are included in this calendar. You can check out the full unboxing (or just pop by for a peek!) with the below video:

Freedm Street – 25 days at £185

Here’s one of the most eco-friendly advents you can buy this Christmas. The Freedm Street calendar is 100% plastic free (unless you opt for makeup then it’s 95% plastic free), as well as being fully cruelty-free, vegan and any products that do contain palm oil contain it from a sustainable source. It’s worth a whopping £350 and contains a mix of beauty, sweet treats and lifestyle products – a nice mix if you ask me!

Evolve Beauty – 12 days at £95

Worth £134, you can stock up and save with this 12 Days Happy Holiday Heroes beauty advent. Made to help bring joy and peace across the festive period, this calendar contains a curated a selection of Evolve’s best selling, natural beauty products. All made with love in their eco studio, to leave you feeling healthy, glowing and serene from top to toe.

Lush – 25 days at £185

Every year Lush creates one of the most indulgent beauty advents on the market for vegans. The 2021 calendar includes exclusive retro products that won’t be found anywhere else in the range this year, all served up in beautiful reusable packaging.

It’s available from 23rd August (online) and 23rd September (in store). As you would expect, it’s be designed with reusable and recyclable packaging too.

Biossance, 12 days £135

Biossance have filled their 12 Day Advent with their luxury, science-led vegan skincare products. The advent contains mostly travel-sized editions of all 12 of the brand’s skin care heroes. This is a great opportunity to try out their range without spending a total fortune. After all, their full sized  Phyto Retinol Serum costs over £60 and their Marine Algae Eye Cream costs over £45. They’re one of my favourite skincare brands, so it’s one I’d recommend!

Revolution Beauty

Cruelty-free beauty brand Revolution Beauty have a few advent calendar options on their website, a couple of which are fully vegan. These make for a great option for those on a budget:

The rest aren’t labelled vegan but are still good for cruelty free shoppers – you can see their full advent offering here.

The Pip Box – 25 days at £135

The Pip Box (best known for their beauty boxes) have announced their vegan and cruelty-free Beauty Advent Calendar for 2021. The calendar costs £135 but contains over £426 worth of beauty treats from 22 brands across skincare, makeup and haircare. Sign up for updates on the calendar here and be the first to know when it goes on sale!

It’s worth noting that not all brands are certified cruelty-free, thus this calendar is unlikely to be a good match for the strictest of cruelty-free shoppers. For example, this calendar contains products from Beauty Bakerie (a ‘grey-area’ brand according to Cruelty Free Kitty) and Aromatherapy Associates (unclear animal testing policy)

Baylis and Harling, 25 days at £40

Baylis and Harling have released a 25 day ‘For Him’ advent which is fully vegan and cruelty-free. There aren’t many beauty advents for men on the market, let alone vegan ones! So this is a godsend for men that love their vegan beauty.

Cruelty-Free Advents (not fully vegan)

This section is for Advent calendars which aren’t fully vegan but are fully cruelty-free.

  • The Body Shop have announced that they are doing 3 Beauty Advents this year (like they do most years). There’s no full line up yet, but they’re in this section as they haven’t done a vegan calendar before and there’s no news that they’re making a start this year. Fortunately though they are a fully cruelty-free brand, as is their parent company Natura. Sign up here for updates.

Not Cruelty-Free Advents

This is the section for Advents which seem like they could be vegan or cruelty-free but unfortunately are not.

  • L’Occitane have revealed a series of advent calendars for 2021 including a £160 Reusable Advent Calendar. Unfortunately as L’Occitane are not cruelty-free, none of their advent calendars can be considered vegan or cruelty-free.
  • Is the M&S Beauty Advent cruelty-free? Unfortunately not as the calendar includes L’Occitane. This is really disappointing as the rest of the products seem to be from cruelty-free brands (albeit not extended to a parent company level – eg REN owned by Unilever).
