If you’re vegan and looking for a sweet banana perfume this summer, you may have your eye on KAYALI Maui in a Bottle Sweet Banana 37.

Unfortunately, KAYALI isn’t particularly clear or consistent when labelling its vegan fragrances. Rather than guessing from the ingredients, I contacted KAYALI Customer Care directly to ask whether Maui Sweet Banana 37 and Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco 20 are vegan.

Is KAYALI Maui Sweet Banana 37 vegan?

The short answer is yes! KAYALI has confirmed that Maui in a Bottle Sweet Banana 37 is vegan-friendly and doesn’t contain any animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products.

The brand also confirmed that Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco 20 is vegan-friendly.

We define vegan-friendly as products that do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products. We can confirm that Maui Sweet Banana | 37 and Maldives in a Bottle | 20 are both vegan-friendly.

Is every KAYALI perfume vegan?

No. KAYALI is not a fully vegan fragrance brand, so you shouldn’t assume that every perfume is suitable just because some are.

For example, KAYALI has separately confirmed to me that Vanilla 28 and Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar 42 are not considered suitable for vegans or vegetarians. It’s worth checking each individual fragrance before buying.

Is KAYALI cruelty free?

KAYALI doesn’t currently hold an independent cruelty-free certification. However, it has been approved by Cruelty-Free Kitty, a trusted independent cruelty-free resource that asks brands detailed questions about their animal-testing policies, suppliers and sales in markets where testing may be required.

Based on the information currently available, I consider KAYALI cruelty free.

Would I buy KAYALI Maui Sweet Banana 37?

Vegan and cruelty-free labelling clearly isn’t at the forefront of KAYALI’s branding, which makes researching its fragrances more difficult than it needs to be.

However, KAYALI Maui Sweet Banana 37 and Maldives in a Bottle 20 pass my checks: the brand has confirmed that they’re vegan-friendly, and I’m satisfied with its current cruelty-free status. I’d therefore be happy to buy either fragrance.
