Pretty Athletic Skincare Review (vegan + cruelty free)

It’s important when exercising to look after your skin. Working out puts your body through it’s paces with sweating being one of the most obvious consequences. A poor skincare regime can lead to clogged pores, redness, irritation, dehydration and inflammation. Recent stats have shown that a shocking 51% of women don’t cleanse their face after exercise and 78% of women don’t know which products to use alongside their gym routine.

Vegan Gym skincare Pretty Athletic

I exercise regularly; twice a week after work I attend belly dance classes and I can often be found at my local gym during my lunch hour. Not only do I need skincare which is light and easy to use on the go, I also need it to be quick to use as I’m often rushing off to get back to my desk on time. I’m not an anomaly, more and more women fit exercise into their busy lifestyles. Pretty Athletic realised this and created a capsule collection dedicated to gym skincare.

The Capsule Collection

Most of us go to the gym to look and feel good, let’s extend the same courteously to our skin.

Work Out Glow

One of the best things you can do for your skin is to cleanse before and immediately after exercise. I use their Work Out Glow rose water tonic before my workout to effectively remove my makeup and then afterwards to clear my skin of sweat. This has been a total game changer for me when rushing back to work as it helps my skin return to normal fast.

Invigorating Shower Scrub

Microbead free, this Invigorating Shower Scrub uses Jojoba Microspheres and Raspberry Seeds to cleanse and buff the body post-workout. I really love the zesty lemon scent. The scrub is pretty concentrated in the tube and lathers really nicely with just water. Considering I don’t take a shower puff with me to the gym, this is a great benefit.

Hydration Kick Body Moisturiser

Think of all that sweat covering your body after a work out. That’s your body dehydrating. This Hydration Kick Moisturiser soothes, nourishes and hydrates the skin without making it feeling greasy. Using this post-workout and drinking plenty of water really helps maintain healthy, glowing skin.

Recovery Boost: Cell Repair Serum

I use this Cell Repair Serum in the evenings when my skin’s able to focus on recovering. I love the jasmine and rose scents which uplift my spirits around bedtime. Although lightweight, this serum works hard to repair the skin’s protective layer as well as fighting environmental damage – an extra bonus for those that exercise outside.
