What’s the difference between the 2 Lush Subscription Boxes?

Within the space of 12 months, Lush launched – not one – but two subscription boxes! The two subscriptions are the Lush Kitchen box and the Fresh and Flowers box. They’re a lovely monthly treat, but at £35 a box, it’s important to make sure that you’re getting the one best suited for you.

What do they have in common?

Let’s begin by taking a look at what both boxes have in common:

Both cost £35 – that includes postage for the Fresh and Floral box, but you have to pay extra for postage with the Lush Kitchen box.
Both boxes are sent out monthly
Both boxes are created – to some extent – with the seasons in mind. This means valentines themed products in February, festive themed products in December, etc.

Okay, so what’s different?

Knowing what you’re getting: you can see which products are included in the Fresh and Floral box before subscribing / before payment is taken each month, whereas with the Lush Kitchen box you get the opportunity to vote on which products will feature in the next box but the final selection is a surprise.
Vegan friendly? The Lush Kitchen box is always vegan. The Fresh and Floral box is often vegan, but not always. As you can preview the Fresh and Floral box, it’s quite simple to double check that all the products are vegan, but as it’s a subscription service it’s quite frustrating to have to check each month.
The size: the Lush Kitchen box is pretty big, whereas the Fresh and Floral box fits through a letterbox
How long you have to use them: whilst arguably all Lush products are best enjoyed sooner rather than later, it’s really important to use your Fresh and Floral products as soon as possible. To prolong their life, it’s best to keep these products in the fridge. Meanwhile products from the Lush Kitchen can be enjoyed at a more relaxed pace.
The dates: for the Fresh and Floral box, you need to sign up by the 24th of one month to have the box sent out on the 11th of the following month. For the Lush Kitchen box, the last day to vote is the 5th, payment is taken on the 6th and then the box is dispatched at the end of the month.
The products: the Lush Kitchen box is full of 4-5 exclusive products that won’t be found anywhere else, whilst the Fresh and Floral box contains freshly made products and contains a small, locally sourced bouquet.
