Lush Launch on ASOS! Which bundles are vegan?
Lush have launched on ASOS! You can now find introductory Lush bundles and shampoo bars on ASOS – making Lush products more accessible for a lot of people. But unfortunately ASOS aren’t too great at labelling which products/bundles are vegan – so read on to check which are.
We’ll also be chatting about why Lush chose to launch on ASOS – it was definitely a controversial move so let’s have a little chat about it.

Which products/bundles are vegan?

Not Vegan
These are the sets which are not suitable for vegans:
- Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar
- LUSH Best for a Calm Face Skincare Set (swap Ultrabland for Ultraplant to veganise this set yourself)
- LUSH Best for a Clear Face (I’m assuming this uses the classic Ocean Salt formula which isn’t vegan, though they have a vegan alternative on the Lush site)
- LUSH Best for Big Hair Set (neither Roots nor American Cream conditioner are vegan)
- LUSH Best Mascara Ever (Ultrabland is not vegan)
It’s unclear whether the LUSH X ASOS Exclusive Bath Bomb Duo Set is suitable for vegans – as it’s not available on Lush (thus the ‘ASOS exclusive’) it’s not possible to check the ingredients.
Why are Lush on ASOS?
A lot of Lush customers are confused by the launch – after all Lush are famed for their high ethics whilst ASOS is a key figure in the fast fashion economy. Lush think of selling on ASOS as the online equivalent to selling on a high street or shopping centre – that they need their products with good (online) footfall.
Active users on ASOS amount to over 24 million, compared to Lush’s 1.5 million. Like selecting a prominent high street or shopping centre, we know ASOS is a prominent digital marketplace where customers in their millions are shopping, so we wanted to trial selling a selection of our hero products, and those items we know should be hero ones, on there. The aim is to introduce the ASOS audience to wonderful, effective Lush products and hopefully make them curious to learn more about our other products and us as a business. As Mark has previously stated: “For the sake of the environment, we NEED to be number one” in the cosmetics industry.
