Spending £100 in Holland & Barrett 💸
To celebrate the launch of their brand new Chelmsford eco store (more on that below), Holland & Barrett invited me to the opening and gave me £100 in gift vouchers to try some new products. I’m someone that loves H&B and voluntarily spends a small fortune in there each month, so this was a real treat!
What Did I Buy?
You can catch the full haul here:
But my two big purchases were:
- FLUX Undies – I’ve been wanting to trial period underwear for a while, but they are a little spenny. This pair set me back £27.99 and was one of my more expensive purchases. Really excited to try these out though, I know you guys are keen to hear my thoughts! These won’t become my new go-to period product (I love my menstrual cup too much!) but hopefully will be a nice overnight option.
- Hanna Sillitoe Soothing Spray – I hadn’t heard of this brand until I spotted them in the H&B Chelmsford store. I was drawn in by their beautiful product design (I love a sunflower) and their focus on sensitive skin had me dropping their Soothing Spray in my basket. This was another big purchase at £28.
Sustainability + Wellness at the New Store
This new Chelmsford store is a bit of a test store … H&B have made some big changes in making the store more sustainable and by putting wellbeing at the forefront of their service. I really loved this store, I felt like it emphasised the things I enjoy most about Holland & Barrett: health & ethics.
Sustainability
Sustainability has been a key focus in the building of the new Holland & Barrett store in Chelmsford. The store uses 100% recycled or recyclable materials, promises a 32% drop in carbon emissions and a 47% drop in global warming potential. Holland & Barrett have also used the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Material Circularity Indicator to increase the circularity of the store by decreasing reliance on single-use materials.
Wellness
The new store makes it easier for customers to take control of their wellness needs and provides accessible wellness retail for all, including self-diagnostic epigenetics testing, personalised vitamin subscriptions and free private sessions with nutritionists and personal trainers. The store also tracks customer behaviour to allow staff to continuously change the layout depending on the public’s wellness needs at that time.
